The term "Above the Fold" originates from the print media sector. It describes the area of a folded newspaper that was the first thing people saw without having to open the newspaper. This is extremely important because only this page is visible in the newspaper shop and is of fundamental importance for the purchase decision. But the "Above the Fold" also exists in web design; and in this area it has exactly the same importance as in print media. Here, the "above the fold" is the area that can be seen without having to scroll. This area is also our "shop window" and the most important section of our website. Because this shop window sells the rest of the content below it.
Due to the large number of different devices and resolutions, it is unfortunately not possible to determine exactly how many pixels the area comprises. Therefore, take a look at which devices people use most frequently to visit your website. Define this area, which is so important for your success. Our own in-house measurements have shown that up to 90 % of users bounce and do not continue scrolling if the "Above the Fold" area is not optimised. Imagine you invest a lot of money in advertising. But 90 % of users only look at the top section of your website and then leave again. This is because it doesn't seem interesting to them, even though these users might otherwise buy your product or service - which would be a disaster for the success of your company.
