Limbic Types

Limbic Types

Limbic Types is a concept in neuromarketing based on the idea that each person has a unique combination of brain regions that are responsible for processing emotions and making decisions. The Limbic Types classification is a method of categorising customers into different groups based on their brain activity and behaviour.

The concept of limbic types is based on the assumption that every customer has an individual reaction to emotional stimuli and that this reaction is influenced by the activity of certain brain regions. There are four main types of limbic types based on the type of brain activity:

  1. The dominant type: This type is dominated by an area of the brain called the orbitofrontal cortex, which means that it responds to emotional stimuli and makes decisions quickly.
  2. The Harmonious Type: This type is dominated by a region of the brain called the cingulate, which means that it focuses on relationships and interactions with others and favours a harmonious environment.
  3. The Innovative Type: This type is dominated by a region of the brain called the insula, which means that it has a high level of curiosity and creativity and seeks out new experiences.
  4. The Perfectionist type: This type is dominated by a region of the brain called the amygdala, which means that they focus on security and stability and have high expectations of quality and service.

The application of limbic types can help to develop targeted and effective marketing strategies that are tailored to the needs and desires of different customer types. For example, the use of visual and audio stimuli that target the specific brain regions of each customer type can help to create a positive emotional connection between the customer and the brand or product, increasing customer interest and loyalty.
