Responsive web design refers to a technique in which a website is designed in such a way that it automatically adapts to different screen sizes and devices. The presentation and arrangement of content is adapted to the screen size of the end device, e.g. desktop, tablet or smartphone. The aim of responsive web design is to ensure an optimal user experience on all devices by making navigation and content intuitive and easily accessible without the user having to scroll horizontally or vertically. Responsive web design is becoming increasingly important as the proportion of mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, used on the internet continues to rise.
